The Administrative Board is the decision making body of Bascomb. It carries out the business of the Charge Conference, helps the congregation articulate its vision, oversees planning, develops new programs, etc. This Board is made up of laity representing committees within the church. The Board meeting is open to the public but the voting rights are only to the members of the Board.

The responsibilities of the Trustees is to manage the properties belonging to the church such as the parsonage, church building, parking lots, cemetery and any other property owned by the church. Moreover, their purpose is to ensure that these facilities serve the highest purpose of the mission and vision of the church in Christ’s name, and they dedicate themselves to the highest standards of excellence as they make the facilities useful, efficient, inviting, friendly, and open.

The responsibilities of the Staff Parish Committee are to advocate and support for the pastors and staff according to the mission and vision of the church. It works with the pastors and staff on setting priorities for leadership. Reflecting the needs of the congregation, they make personnel decisions. They also work closely with the Administrative Board on personnel issues and perform annual evaluation of the staff. This body also serves as the bridge between the pastors and staff and the congregation.

The responsibilities of the Finance Committee are to identify, perfect and manage the finance of Bascomb. It also manages the finances, that is, raising, managing, and dispersing the finances to achieve the mission and vision of Bascomb.

The responsibilities of the Education Committee are to address the educational and spiritual needs of the people of Bascomb. This committee plans and implements various Bible Study and other practical studies such as habits, finance, aptitude, etc. It also coordinates curriculum, materials, and volunteers so that Bascomb Sunday School runs smoothly.

The responsibilities of the Worship Committee are to work with the pastors and the Director of Music to ensure that the people of Bascomb experience meaningful worship. The committee assists in the outlining of worship services, coming up with new ideas as well as planning and setting up for special services. They are also responsible for maintaining elements of Communion, supplies in worship services and paraments and banners in the Sanctuary and the Narthex.

The Missions Committee develops a continuous, year-round program of mission education and service. It identifies needs within our community, in the US, or in the world. It works with the congregation to address these needs.

The responsibilities of the Stewardship Committee are to plan and promote a comprehensive program of stewardship, including stewardship education, proportionate giving and tithing, funding the church’s ministries, planned giving, economics and money management and a Christian lifestyle of stewardship.

The responsibility of the Evangelism / Visitation Committee is to be the first one to welcome visitors on behalf of the church with Pastors. It writes welcome notes to visitors, follow through with them, and make them feel welcomed at Bascomb.

The hospitality committee is group of dedicated Bascomb members who are the first point of contact to our visitors on Sunday and special church functions in the Narthex. They are available to greet visitors and guests outside the Sanctuary and to the welcome them to our church. They serve as an initial resource to answer questions and direct people where they need to go.

It is the responsibility of the Nursery Committee to ensure that the church’s child care needs are met for all worship services, bible studies and any church sponsored events held at Bascomb. They work to ensure all heath and safety codes are maintained and facilities are staffed and have adequate supplies to meet all needs. Bascomb practices ‘Safe Sanctuary’ guidelines by the United Methodist Church and always has at least 2 adults in the nursery.

The responsibility of the Communications committee is to work with church leaders to develop and implement annually a coordinated plan to communicate various ministry areas. It uses E-mail, our website, Twitter, etc. to communicate important events and pastoral notes to everyone in the church.

Responsibilities of the LS&D Committee are to identify competent leaders needed for a variety of ministry tasks. Identify and recommend persons for service in various ministry areas.
